Automotive Warranty Enforcement Act

Vehicles Covered: Any passenger car or truck with a rated capacity of 1 ton or less.

Resonable Attempt: 1 repair attempt in the braking or steering system or 4 repair attempts or 30 calendar days out of service for other problems.

Warranty Period: 15 months or 15,000 miles. 12 months or 12,000 miles for leased vehicles.

Note: A defect must substanstantially affect the vehicles ability to be driven or to be driven safely. A minor defect is not covered. Not only is replacement of the vehicle an option, you can be reimbursed for such expenses as tow fees, licensing fees, out of pocket fees, interest on loans, rental car fees, DMV fees, and attorney fees.
