North Carolina Lemon Law

North Carolina Statutes
Article 15A, Chapter 20, Section 351
New Motor Vehicles Warranties Act

Vehicles Covered: Any new motor vehicle other than a house trailer, provided that the vehicle does not have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more. This includes pickup trucks, motorcycles and most vans.

Resonable Attempt: 4 repair attempts or more than 20 days out of service during any 12 month period.

Warranty Period: 2 years or 24,000 miles.

Note: A defect must substanstantially affect the vehicles ability to be driven or to be driven safely. A minor defect is not covered. Not only is replacement of the vehicle an option, you can be reimbursed for such expenses as tow fees, licensing fees, out of pocket fees, interest on loans, rental car fees, DMV fees, and attorney fees.
